Unrest in Tibet, China’s Undoing

By nomadicasian

And so the world is watching the carnage unfolds in Tibet. The oppressors continued to crush freedom lover Tibetans aspiring for an independent Tibet and an independent true Dalai Lama. For centuries Tibet had been a sovereign nation until that crushing force of the Chinese invaders made the country lost its identity and freedom.

The Chinese invaders made even worse to the Tibetans when their only and true spiritual leader was forced to leave Tibet to escape China’s oppressive authoritative command. Tenzin Gyatso, the fourteenth Dalai Lama and the spiritual leader of all Tibetan Buddhists fled to India bringing along with him 80,000 Tibetans after the failed uprising.

Today’s Tibet is again experiencing the same agony and pain since the 1959 uprising that was brutally suppressed by Red China. Recent events in Tibet have shown how brutal the Chinese in confronting the Tibetan independence issue. The latest killing of Tibetan protesters only makes it difficult for China to tame the strong feelings of displeasure and hostility the entire Tibet people keep in their hearts.

The Tibetan people just couldn’t pursue their independence aspiration because outside help is hard to get. Asia and the rest of the world are economically and diplomatically attached to China. The world is cautious towards China and any interference on its domestic problem would cause economic and diplomatic ramifications.

Not even a boycott of the Beijing Olympics would bring China to its knees rather it could only tighten its grip on Tibet and the issue of human rights. Ergo, the oppressed Tibetan people, the Dalai Lama and an independent Tibet nation will not succeed unless the world takes action to face China’s oppressive regime.
